The value of medical insights

What comes to mind when you think about medical insights?

💡 Strictly speaking, medical insights constitute any type of information from the outside world that is of interest to Medical Affairs. Of course, this information needs to be of value – that is, be relevant to the company’s medical strategy and overarching disease area strategy.

💡 Pharmaceutical companies used to collect insights using a structured approach, via advisory boards or one-to-one meetings of MSLs with key opinion leaders.

These sources of insights are very valuable, but it would be a mistake to limit your insight collection strategy to these sources. Advisory boards that involve patients or patient advocacy groups ✅ and/or a diverse range of primary care specialists ✅ can give you additional information on how the treatment benefits are perceived by the end user and on the way best practice is implemented in community clinics.
